Help needed: Swapping 7.8 w/Jacket Water Aftercooling
Need help with someone experienced in Ford 7.8's.
Issue: Swapping out an old 7.8 with a jacket water aftercooler to a remanufactured 7.8 with air-to-air aftercooler. The problem is, the truck is not equipped with the air-to-air hookups in the front. Truck is a CF7000 that originally had a 6.6, a 7.8 from a F700 was put in 2 years ago. The reman arrived today... to our shock, had the air-to-air manifold. Question: Can we just swap the manifolds and make it a jacket water or is something else needed. Don't want to make a $7k mistake by damaging the new motor. Thanks in advance!!!
