Re: How to find red dye diesel

I know of no web sites. I see you list Chino as one of your locations. The only place I know about in the Inland Empire is a place in Nuevo, which isn't a cost effective drive from Chino unless you are buying a lot.

****Disregard my reply....Duh, I just saw you listed Chico, not Chino

Re: How to find red dye diesel

Call and ask your local farm supply store. They should be able to tell you. Around here, the best place to buy red (untaxed) fuel is at farmers Co-op (MFA), they have pumps that take cards.

Black 1999.5 F250SD XLT AUTO 4x4 reg. cab(6/99), Pre-pump & Tank Mods, AFE Intake, Racor Filter/Separator, HX Mod, ZooDad, WW, Power-pedal Mod, Pop-up gooseneck ball,Brush Guard, 3.5" lift, BFG Commercial AT tires (265/75), 65hp ATS chip, and #2 cologne. Ball joints replaced, and thinking about a BTM and shocks....!

Re: How to find red dye diesel

The Shell Bulk dealer (Jesse Lange Distributing) has dyed diesel. They are located The Midway, across from PG&E's yard, between Park Ave & Hegan Ln in Chico. I believe Northgate Petroleum carries it too.

Re: How to find red dye diesel

I'm up the hill from you in Magalia, but my work takes me to Chico several times a week.

Re: How to find red dye diesel

Contrary to what it says on the pump, the only difference between red-dye, so-called high sulfur, fuel and un-dyed, taxed, low-sulfur fuel is the red dye and the lack of road tax.

The dye is added at the bulk plant to the same old fuel that is taxed when un-dyed.

At least that holds true around here.

If you don't intend on high volume purchase, the savings aren't worth the trouble.

That's a KUBOTA.

Yes, I think I'd save $25 a year by using untaxed fuel in my farm tractor.

Yanmar YM2500 diesel tractor. 3 cylinders, 80 inches and 30 throbbing horsepower.

Re: How to find red dye diesel

Just get a 250gal tank and have the local distributor come fill it up.
