John Deere

Does John Deere make a diesel engine that would fit into and be powerful enough for a classic truck?

What size truck and what kind of power are we talking about here? For a pickup sized truck, the Deere Powertech engines come in a 4.5L and a 6.8L model. I always thought the 6.8L would make an interesting truck engine if you could find something with a hood big enough to stuff it under, and a transmission to go behind it.

I want to put a diesel engine in a classic Studebaker or F-100. Can the Deere be modified for extra power? I'd like 400 hp.

Thanks.
