Sea Foam question.

I'm thinking of trying some Sea Foam in the engine oil.
I've only got a couple of hundred miles on a fresh oil change.

Should I add the Sea Foam now, or wait till she's almost ready for another oil change?

I would wait until your 500 miles from a change. I have never put it in the oil, but have used it in fuel and directly into intakes.

I have heard the guys that add to oil do it about 100 miles before they change it. I have used it by draining the fuel filter and filling it with seafoam, I haven't poured it into the intake. I am going to do it in the filter just before our trip next month and 1 can in each fuel tank..The stuff works good

What exactly does it do if you put it in the gas tank?

It's suppose to clean your injectors and tank when put in the fuel.
I've just about finished my first full tank with it, but I'm still smoking quite a bit.

Putting it in engine oil is suppose to remove the carbon around the rings.

Mine was already smoking.
I was hoping the injectors just needed cleaning.

I will say that the seafoam is way to go!!! I emptied my fuel filter and then filled it with seafoam, restarted the truck and ran it for a few minutes. Each time I goosed the throttle it would have the foulest smelling puff of smoke I ever smelled. After I ran it for about 1/2 hr. I had to make a trip to the kids house 1/2 hr. away on freeway and I noticed about 100 degree drop in EGT's. a week later I pulled the trailer and It sure seemed like it had more power. I plan on doing another treatment before our trip in July and I will pour 1 can in each tank as we take off. BTW I also use Power service "diesel Kleen" in every tank.

Yea I agree it is good stuff. I do everything that has a engine every year. The neighbors must always think that I have blown up an engine when ever I do it.

With the stroke I put it in a sprayer bottle and mist it into the engine, not flooding it out, but allowing it make its way through.
