Small upgrade in tow vehicle... Now looking for a new brake controller

Knowing fully well that I was "slightly" pushing my dually's ability:

[image]http://www.blackwidow4x4.com/images/T-hauler-1.jpg[/image]

I finaly had the opportunity to upgraded!

[image]http://www.blackwidow4x4.com/images/T-hauler.jpg[/image]

No more sour looks from DOT and weigh stations

Now trying to figure out what kind/type of brake contrller to use. My trialer uses electric brakes. My hauler is air. Previously used an Ultima and loved it. Should I look at this type or an air/electric unit? Any recommendations?

Re: Small upgrade in tow vehicle... Now looking for a new brake controller

I am not sure how you can consider these "huge" as they are thumbnail images. Unless you went to the website and clicked on the image for a blown up version.

Image 1 - 100x56 pixles @ 19,766 bytes
Image 2 - 100x66 pixles @ 33,319 bytes

Even then we are still talking about bytes in their size.

Re: Small upgrade in tow vehicle... Now looking for a new brake controller

I have the Dr. Performance Brakesmart controller.

Best money I've ever spent for a safety device. I don't even know the truck and trailer are two separate pieces. LOVE IT!

Actualy it was just bad Net Etiquette. I mean you obviously didn't depress the "Sarcasm" key on the keyboard and I see not one necessary sarcastic smiley.

Re: Small upgrade in tow vehicle... Now looking for a new brake controller

After reading many posts on a rv forum I put a Prodigy controller in the F350.

The other two rigs have Voyager controllers also made by Tekonsha and they work good.

Re: Small upgrade in tow vehicle... Now looking for a new brake controller

there are controllers that work like the Jordan using the trucks air applied pressure. BUT for the life of me I cant think of the name of them. basically there truly proportional to the truck.

using a pressure sensor on the applied brake portion of the truck I can vary the output to the electric brakes on the trailer. the harder you stand on the brake peddle the harder the electric brakes apply. Dad had that setup in his old 330 Pete worked so good we never gave it a second look. just hooked up and went. worked Just like an 05+ with the ITBC only better with the big drums on the Pete.

Brakesmart controller sounds like it works this way. The thing is awesome! Don't even know the trailer is back there.
