WHOOPS - LSD not ULSD

has anyone who mistakenly put in LSD instead of ULSD checked mileage and noticed performance improvement when running the low sulphur diesel?

yea the LSD does have a little more umph but you really do to want to use it. You will get more frequent regens which will kill the mileage plus could/will cause egr and dpf issues. Don't worry about it this time but try not to use it, the truck as not designed for it.

At what point will we stop being able to get LSD period? I thought we were at that timeline. Is it 2010? I haven't seen LSD in Ca for at least a year or more now. I know why it isn't here in Ca but I thought the country was also done with it.

October 2010 I beleive.

Since uncle sam didn't make any determinations about standard labelling, picking a new filler hose color (i.e. not green, yellow or orange) and basically left it up to the industry you can easily make this mistake.

December 1, 2010 is the compliance deadline for retail on-highway Diesel fuel in the lower 48 and Hawaii. Alaska has a unique exemption.
Clean Diesel Fuel Alliance Information Center - Government - Industry - Consumers

98% of on-highway Diesel fuel outside of California is already ULSD.

- 4.1:1 final drive converted to 3.4:1. Quieter, better mileage but it's a good thing I live in the flat Midwest.
