Hi, is there a manual High Idle switch on the 17 Powerstrokes? My last Cummins had one and I used it all the time.

Thanks,

I don't think it's in the truck from factory but you can make one pretty easy

Why didn't Ford include this switch from the factory (like the Cummins)?

Can someone who has done this mod, show where they mounted the switch or knob?

Thanks,

I haven't done this, but plan to. One example shows a knob for a potentiometer that would let you set the idle speed. There's also a document around here on the forum (look for Q-256) that has the resistor codes needed for various static idle speeds. In this case the switch is one of the upfitter switches. If you don't have the upfitter switches, relays, wiring, there IS a full Ford SEIC module with switches and display.

Hope this helps....

10K resistor gets you 1500 RPM
