Cleaning a "microfiber" couch

So a friend comes over, their dog goes outside to do what dogs do outside, and then comes in and sits on the first new couch we have ever bought. Am I Mr. Overkill when I want to clean off the couch and pillows in the dogs "sitting" area. We nap on it, and have smaller kids. Am I overreacting? I just do not want my face where the dog parked its tail end.

Re: Cleaning a "microfiber" couch

I take it you don't have any dogs yourself. Me personally, I would not worry about it. Vacuum it maybe. If you're freaked out go buy one of those cheap steam vacuums or something similar for times like this.

Re: Cleaning a "microfiber" couch

I don't have any advice on cleaning it, but I don't think you are overreacting. Tail end or any other part of the dog, I wouldn't want one on my couch at all.

Re: Cleaning a "microfiber" couch

Maybe just spot test some Lysol spray on the couch where it can't be seen. Then if there is no fading spray the area where the dog was.
I also wouldn't be concerned. We have two dogs, they will lay on the couch with me,but I guess that is a personal thing.

Re: Cleaning a "microfiber" couch

I really like dogs, and it was well behaved, but, (butt?) it kinda creeps me out.

I am going the Lysol route, as well as contacting my local Zep rep. (commercial cleaning products). Not that I think I have stuff ALL over the couch, but for future reference as well. Thanks!
