Diesel Power Magazine question

So, evidently it's time to renew my subscription. Has anyone else been contacted by Ebsco Teleservices about a renewal? They were on my caller ID literally every night when I got home, and I had no idea who they were. Finally they called when I was there one evening and the guy was super nice, I just want to make sure that they are legitimate.

They have a nice website and everything seems to make sense, but I can't find anything about them on the diesel power website. I really don't understand why diesel power didn't just mail me a renewal form instead of hiring a telemarketer.

Can someone validate these people? I have a bill that I need to pay if they are legit.

Thanks everyone, Merry Christmas...

Re: Diesel Power Magazine question

I've had a lot of issues with that Ebsco service. I renewed my subscription online with Diesel Powermag, and this Ebsco then sent me a bill saying I owed them money, and after a phone call or 2, I was left even more confused, and without a subscription. I sent them the bill, and they sent it back to me, so really not sure what is going on. They don't even have a 1-800 number, so I'm thinking they work out of someone's garage...

Re: Diesel Power Magazine question

My bet is they buy the list of people that have not renewed, then buy your renewal under a "volume discount", keeping the balance for themselves.

My suggestion is to stay away from 3rd parties, particularly telemarketers have a high turnover of generally lower income workers who might be more tempted to steal financial information.

Re: Diesel Power Magazine question

Wait,go through the magazine directly. It is cheaper that way with several magazines I get. I even got a advisory letter from American Handgunner asking that I do not use a third party they have been having problems with. It is only about a buck or more a year more, but if they get a few thousand subscriptions, big money.
