Free Automotive News this week only

Free access to Automotive News -- In-depth coverage of the automotive industry with special features for subscribers this week only.

If you a car nut that cares about the business of automotive production but cannot afford the expensive subscription to Automotive News online edition, they are giving you free access this week only. They want you to see what you're missing about the "business" of automotive production.

One thing is lots of data. For example, here is a one-page table with a summary of car and truck production by brand (you'll probably have to register to see it):
http://www.autonews.com/assets/PDF/CA6654087.PDF

Dig around in that table and you'll see:

Ford SuperDuty truck production:

Week of 8/3 - 8/8 '09 = 3,723 pickups and 8 chassis cabs.
Month of July '09 = 9,445 pickups and 30 chassis cabs
January thru July '09 = 94,334 pickups and 130 chassis cabs
January thru July '08 = 140,653 pickups and 3,425 chassis cabs

Last chance. Free access ends Sunday, 16 Aug.

I can't believe only 50-something folks bothered to read this thread. There must not be many car enthusiasts that monitor this forum.
