My buddy just bought a GMC 3500 truck, he had a flatbed installed on it and approx. 200 gallon diesel tank to refuel his dozers, equip ect ( it has a dispenser and hose on the tank) how are others hooking these up? I said to have the truck with key on or running while dispensing fuel, key off, no power to pump on the tank, just looking for a few ideas as to "How" others were hooking these up!!

I usually put a switch in the cab for the pump power, I use a battery source for the switch so it can be run with the key off as long as that switch is on. Its good security because nobody can steal fuel unless they break in to turn on the switch. Probably not the best idea to have to have the truck running when your fueling up equipment anyways.

On our company truck's service tank we joke that since we don't have a lock on the fill cap a stupid person could siphon out of it, while a smart person would flip the pump on and pump it out. Our pump is hooked up with an alligator clip to the battery, though we rarely disconnect it since no one has ever bothered it. Also we pump off our truck into equipment with both running and pump into the truck with it running without any issues. I guess it depends on where the truck sits and the area your friend lives in if you really need a switch in the cab to shut off power.
the truck would be locked in a fenced yard at nights, it would be diesel in the tank, I wouldnt think it would pose a problem to refuel while the truck was running, I am not sure how many amps this pump draws, if he fills several pieces of equipment on the same job, I wouldnt want the pump to drain the batterie (s) I have not seen this truck yet, I guess I will get an inline fuse for it also, thanks!!

If he is pumping diesel I wouldn't be worried about having the truck running. If he is powering the pump off of the vehicle battery(ies) than I would think it better to have the truck running to reduce the risk of draining the battery.
