Just one thing is if you built the entertainment center and didn't leave enough room for the set to disapate the heat that it generates that may of lead to it demise. Like our diesel engines these LCD TV sets need a lot more cooling area than the old ones did.
I was a little concerned about that when I installed the tv so, I checked it with a temp. probe to make sure I didn't have to add any fans. The temperature right above the tv never got above the mid 90's. There's 18" of space behind the tv and ventilation slots in the top and bottom of the cabinet back.
