Makita LXT

Looking at the new Makita LXT 18v products. Anyone have any experience with them? I like my Dewalt stuff but the battery life is crap. I was looking at just buying some of the new Nano batteries for it but the only place I can find them is on ebay and it is $229 for 2 batteries and charger.

Re: Makita LXT

i love mine...got the 18V hammer drill/driver...charges fast (like 10-15 minutes) and last a long time (i used it for securing flooring and sheetrock so far-no cement drilling)..

very happy with it so far...

Re: Makita LXT

Bought the six piece combo kit last year. Completely satisfied with it, especially the impact gun which I use quite often.

Re: Makita LXT

I also have the six piece combo kit. I got it about three months after they went on sale.

The only thing I don't like is the 3.0 amp batteries take 1 hour to charge. The poster with the 15 minute charge probably has the smaller 1.5 amp batteries with the new charger.

I really, really like the impact driver. I've put in and taken out over 1,000 screws easy. Much lighter and easier to handle than a cordless drill for screws.

The sawzall is not worth it. I can burn through batteries much faster than I can charge them. The batteries also get very hot due to the fast discharge. A friend loaned me a corded sawzall and it was much better.
