08 F250 6.4 Turbo Noise and Grind/Vibration

I am new to this site but have found some great info when having issues in the past. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Heres my problem/issues:

Started getting a flutter or higher pitched tea kettle like sound when accelerating about 4 months ago. Finally took to dealer when truck lost power and was spitting white smoke out. They were able to duplicate the white smoke and ended up changing the EGR. Of course mine truck was built before OCt 2008 so they put the updated EGR w/o the liquid cooling feature on it. Said couldnt duplicate the noise from turbo, intake, or exhaust. (I really have no clue what the noise is but I am pretty sure its either the turbo or something to do with the inatke system. This was done a month ago.
Took in last week cause when got back from shop had a grinding and shaking vibration when making left turns. Gets louder and more rugged when accelerate. Feels as if chassis is coming out from under truck. Took in and they drove it for 2 days and couldnt duplicate my complaint however I drove it for the tech and he did verify my vibration and what not during left turn. Yet they didnt fix anything. IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD POINT OUT TO THEM OR THAT I CAN CHECK MYSELF TO SEE WHERE ISSUE IS AT??? My truck is 2008 F250 CC SWB 4x4 20 inch stock rims/tires. Completely stock.

for the high pitched sound did you check the clamps for your CAC? that is about the only thing I can say on that.

For the symptoms while turning, did you recently rotate tires? If not then do so and see what that does. Also check your brakes and the slide pins on the calipers to ensure they are moving freely.

I checked the clamps and all were good. It only makes this whine/perculating-squeal during mild acceleration. The dealer said they suspect a bad pulley/belt... To me it would do this noise under no-load in neutral and not just during a empty load acceleration.
The vibration and not really a grinding noise but some noise associated from the vibration still occurs and I have looked around to no avail. The dealer states it is the 4x4 dust seal... I was dumb-founded. He stated it wasnt under warranty but that they cleaned it out and it shouldnt be as bad but it is actually worse now! I have really almost had it with the service here locally. Who or Where to go to either get help or eliminate the problems on a $60K truck is becoming ridiculous!

if you are under 36/36 then it is covered under warranty. Then you have the powertrain warranty which I think is 5 yr/60K. Sounds like it is time for a new dealer.

True, very true. However the service dept stated that they couldnt fix anything unless they knew for certain what the problem was. And to me if it was the "Dust Seal" he would have called and said this is the problem do you want us to fix it??? Not tell me its not under warranty and so we cleaned it and 95% of my problem should be gone and it sounds worse.
The 4x4 also makes a vacuum type hiss about every rotation and the mechanic said sounds like a vacuum leak. But of course it is the dust seal. I am taking it to another dealer after first of the year. If it doesnt get fixed they can buy it back.

I know we are talking 6.4 but when I had my 04 6.0 it made a tea kettle whistle sound under mild acceleration which was excess pressure escaping from the coolant cap because the head gasket(s) were leaking combustion pressure to the coolant system.

If one were to relieve any coolant pressure from the system first thing in the morning when the engine is cool; then first thing the next morning (cool engine) after operating the truck from previous day, the coolant hose should not be pressurized (assuming same altitude and relative temperature); mine would always be hard and re-pressurized up.

Ford actually had a TSB to monitor the coolant pressure for spikes while driving to detect the problem.

If your hose is pressurized when the engine is cool first thing in the morning; relieving the pressure and checking it the next day might provide insight into your problem; if there is no pressure to begin with then probably no coolant or head gasket issue.

Haven't heard of such issues on stock 6.4 engines so is a longshot....

My trucks powertrain is 5yr. 60K miles; IIRC it was 100K in Canada at same time and GM was 100K when I bought my truck. Don't know if Ford ever increased it in the states. My engine is 100K.

BNMCCOY,

I did as you stated just for fun and the cap has some pressurization but not alot. Nothing I would feel would warrant a concern, as these new models dont really have a radiator cap anymore, just a cheap old plastic screw on/off cap. I will definately speak to the mechanic to see if this could be an issue, but I honestly believe there is something more wrong with my truck and the dealership just doesnt want to deal with me or they have NO clue as to why my truck makes these sounds.

Senix,
I made a mistake from motor to power train warranty. Does the Power Train Warranty cover brakes, axles and driveshaft components?

To be clear, your saying the Power Train Warranty wont cover any type of axle, driveshaft problems?
