It really is sad that the better built Dodge Rams are coming out of Mexico and not the US. What does this say about the American worker who makes at least three times what the Mexican workers are making and doesn't care about the quality of the product they are producing?
[/ QUOTE ] I would have to disagree with you on that. I have yet to see a Dodge truck built better then a Ford. The build quality on Ford is way better. Thats a pretty strong statement to be saying about American labor isnt it. I have driven blue oval trucks for over 25 years since I was eighteen an they have been some great built trucks for me. This is not to pit the American worker against the Mexican worker its just what I have seen.

I would have to disagree with you, build quality on my dodge is top notch. No squeeks or rattles.

The new 6.7 is not the 6.7 ISX or any tractor motor. it is a bored and stroked 5.9 ISB

1994 Ford F350 replaced w/ 7.3 IDI, 4x4, E4OD, 3.73, Reg. Cab, DRW, Sevice Bed, 480k Miles (engine), 430k Miles (truck) (no rebuild, one Injector Pump),

Based on the proven DNA of the 5.9-liter Cummins turbo-diesel engine, the new 6.7-liter engine is 50-percent quieter, while featuring a 107mm bore by 124mm stroke (versus 102mm bore by 120mm stroke for the 5.9-liter engine). The new engine retains more than 40 percent of its components from the 5.9-liter engine and shares more than 80 percent of its components with the new Dodge Ram chassis cab.
The high-performance 408-cubic-inch inline-six intercooled turbo-diesel is clean and quiet, and meets all 2007 U.S. federal and state emission requirements, which require a 90-percent reduction in particulate matter and 50-percent reduction in NOx.

None of that means that 6.7 Cummins is simply a 5.9 bored and stroked, they share components but they arent the same block just bored and stroked.

I think this is what we are looking for. The ISBe was a bored and stroked 5.9 that has been in use in Europe. That must be what the new 6.7 in the dodges are.
EDIT: It doesn't say bored and stroked just that the displacement was increased.

With all do respect Hercules130, I have read and re-read this article, this is the new ISB, or in europe the ISBe, in no way shape or form does this article say it is a 5.9 ISB bored and Stroked, as a matter a fact on page 3 under Features and Benefits at the first bullet it says "Brand New Engine Block", not a 3.9 ISB Block bored and stroked to a 4.5 and 5.9 ISB Block bored and Stroked to 6.7. By the way the 6.7 used in tractors is a QSB6.7 under the Agriculture Tier 3/Stage IIIA in the Applications section of Cummins website.

Well i don't know what to think then. I guess it is the same as when cummins went from the 24 valve to the HPCR. New block, fuel system, turbo and electronics. I think what i was initially trying to say was the 6.7 hasn't been used before. Now all of my loins are crossed.
Are we agreeing that it is a new motor?

ok ill agree that its new, but im not sure on how new, i always used the rule of thumb that the difference between a QSB and an ISB was the application. and the QSB has been in use in AG equipment since 2005. But I guess that assumption could be wrong. So lets just say its a new engine/block with ISB technology.
