2- New Super Duty Articles

Focusing on Durability..

Testing Builds Ford Tough Trucks

King of Working Trucks

I must admit, I like that red truck / the front end is growing on me..

I don't necessiarily think that a broken tow hook or cracked frame is what people experience...

Drivabilty issues are what turns most people away from a product...

Especially the fact that they can't get them running / shifting...

Looks like they are really taxing the drivetrain by loading down the trucks in extrem condtions though...

Re: 2- New Super Duty Articles

i am noticing alot of misprints in every artcle i read on these new trucks, including not not only: saying there is an egt gauges on diesels, or back up camera's, and how saying early next year, when the article was published january 16th.... we know what they ment but almost every article i read some where had something wrong with misrepresentation of what this truck is going to have on it.

Re: 2- New Super Duty Articles

it makes me nervous that in all these tests... no one mentions the fuel economy of these trucks. All I'm asking for is a little bit better than my 6.0L got.... which was an average of about 13.5. I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying that.... but when the duramax is getting 18-20.... I don't think its that much to ask for.

Re: 2- New Super Duty Articles

Heheheh. Fuel economy is going to take a dive, amigo. Atleast it won't be polluting as much, though.

Seems to me if the EPA mandated better fuel economy we'd achieve the same pollution requirements along with using much less oil all across the board.

However, I am eager to see and drive this new beast in person and I'm sure Ford has done its homework on it.

I'm getting about 17.25mpg right now, on winter fuel, with my '06 LBZ Dmax. This past spring and summer, the average was between 18.5-19.5, with one full tank that averaged over 20mpg.

Re: 2- New Super Duty Articles

A friends old LB7 got 28 on the freeway with custom tuning and oh also had 435hp to the wheels. I must say I really did like that truck but it still wasn't a super duty.

Now to the important stuff... That front end is definatly getting better. The only thing I'm mad about is waiting for the release. I think we should only have about a week or two left, right?

Re: 2- New Super Duty Articles

I was getting 18 when my truck was new. The new diesel fuel will lower fuel mileage because it has fewer BTU's per gallon. Last time I checked- 15mpg. Kinda nice, huh? Jack up the price of the fuel to fund plant re-tooling, cut our fuel mileage, and post record profits. Someone needs an ass-whoopin'.

Duh! I should've known that! I'm excited that Ford has a black/red combo. Do you have any pics of what yours will look like?
