Question 2 Questions - Driveline Clunk & Turning Clunk

I have a new Job 3 CCSB 4x4 Lariat that has two "issues". I am hoping for some feedback to better understand what is going on and what to do about it.

1. The truck seems to "clunk" when starting up from a stop. I can even just take my foot off the brake and it does this. It almost feels like there is some slack in the drivetrain and it has to start to move forward and get the slack out.

2. Occasionally, I will be in a tight turn (not on the bump stops) such as parking or making a sharp u-turn and I hear and feel a pop or some sort of rubbing type sound. I don't have it in 4 wheel drive. I had the dealer look for this and they were unable to duplicate the concern. I can't always repeat this, so I don't have much to give them.

Thanks in advance!

More info about the truck would be helpful. Oversized tires? Manual front hubs? Just a thought.

A friend had the same type issue, dealer said nothing wrong, I checked it out for him and found a broken transmission mount, new mount fixed the problem.

If it’s not the mount, do this test. You will need a friend and a cold beer. With the parking break on, place the trans in drive, have your friend (one you can trust) applied the foot break and then throttle up to around 1200 RPM’S then decelerate, at the same time you watch the drive line for any abnormalities or excessive movement or popping noise, like the carrier bearing etc.. Do the same in reverse and try to recreate the noise/ popping your have so you can possibly locate the problem in question. Good Luck!

The truck is completely stock, w/ 20" wheels. The front hubs are manual/automatic w/ the 4x4 control on the dash, rather than a lever on the floor.

Would you be able to point me to the tranny mount to check? Where is it and what par of it was broken?

Thanks,
JS
