1) Did anybody have a problem fitting their 2008 F350 SRW 4x4 CC under a 7 foot high garage door? My garage door trim is 82.5 inches off the floor. Ford specs say the truck is 81 inches high, but I am unsure how repeatable/accurate that spec is.
2) Could I still fit it if I ordered the roof clearance lights? In other words, how much height do the roof clearance lights add?
3) Has anybody had problems with sufficient clearance between the bed rails on 2008 F350 SRW 4x4 CC and their fifth wheel? I don't want to have to do any funky things like flipping axles, etc. to get enough clearance.
Go to a dealership and measure one of the trucks on the lot (that would be outfitted like the one you want). That's the best way to answer your questions.

# 1 and # 2 don't know but # 3 Duane-Miller says this "In one of my "stupid" moments, I thought I needed to lower my 350. Went back and forth with the dealer to get the parts in.... I lowered the rear, hooked up the trailer, and found that it squatted too much. I put the original blocks back in and now everything is fine." This was copied from the towing section.
I also had this concern about the hitch.
I have anew truck..exactly like yours. Haven't measured my garage..but assume it is a pretty much standard height...house is 22 years old. My truck fits....just barely....have no more than 1/2 inch to spare....of course it is too long as to close the door!

The bed clearance should not be a problem. I have about 8 or 9 inches between mine. See PICS.
Cannot help you with the garage door -- mine are 10 ft.
Good luck with your 5th wheel. My truck really tows it well.

So one would think that WITH clearance lights, the overall truck height would be 82-83 inches. Yet, if I understand correctly, you measured 80.5 inches to the TOP of the clearance lights on the same exact truck model. Is there that much tolerance in these height specs? That's what I was worried about in the first place.

Since the trucks tend to sit higher in the rear than in the front I would guess that the rear of the cab would be the high point. So, it's quite possible the front of the cab where the clearance lights are mounted would measure lower.

Very interesting; I hadn't thought about that possibility before. Thanks!

OK. Moved the truck to an very flat area and remeasured at the back of the cab at the highest point of the roof ribs. It is exactly 81 inches. Foolishly, I made an assumption about the clearance lights being higher than the rest of the truck. On my truck, they still look higher, but that is not the case. Optical illusion or poor eyesight. 81 inches, measured twice.
