2008 F350 - Audio/CD PLAYER

Hi
I'm awaiting delivery of my 2008 F350 Lariat Diesel.
Was disappointed with the CD Randomization provided in the 2003>2007 trucks; only randomized selections per disc ------- not across all six discs, like earlier models did.
Does anyone know whether the Premium Audio package provided on the 2008's will permit random track selection of any of the six CD's?
Thanks

Re: 2008 F350 - Audio/CD PLAYER

I don't know for sure but I really doubt it. The last time I saw a multi-disk randomizer it was in a 10 disk home unit. The thing is, is that it can only go so fast swapping disks and re-reading them so it really sucked...too much lag between songs. If you're getting a Lariat then you'll have the audio input (1/8 inch plug), and that's your ticket. Get yourself an iPod (or other MP3 player) and set it to random and let'er rip! I have a 20gig iPod that has 3227 country songs on it...there's no way you'll ever touch that by swapping CD's!

Take care,
John

Re: 2008 F350 - Audio/CD PLAYER

petersrc,

I just loaded in 6 CD's in my new F350 FX4, audiophile system. Yup, the shuffle function only works per disk.

If you don't want to go the iPod route, the unit plays mp3 data disks. With a computer, you can convert your CD's to mp3 format, burning hundreds of selections to one disk. That way, the shuffle feature works on it all.

Thanks Guys
Tom ------ sorry to hear the new unit still only shuffles one disc.
Like yourself, I was trying to stay away from yet another (IPOD, or so)unit. Guess I'll likely go the MP3 mode ------- good enough for my needs.

Re: 2008 F350 - Audio/CD PLAYER

If I remember correctly, the buttons are on the steering wheel, so it's not hard to switch to another CD or to the Sirius. I know DH can increase the speed of the fan or temps without leaning over. I only get in it on the weekends so can't remember everything.
