2008 F450

I got my new F450 Monday and it is one great truck. I bought off the lot at Sunrise Ford ( bobby williams dealership ) Its shadow grey and FULLY LOaded with the 430 axle. I couldnt wait too order due to vacation concerns. I'm downsizig from a large fifth wheel to a large truck camper.
Yes this is my first post but no troll here!!!! This is my 3rd Superduty and is the BEST. You guys waiting on orders relax you think it is hard waiting, wait till you own one. I cant sleep good at night and find myself getting up in the middle of the night to make sure it is still in the driveway.

I want to thank all of you for the frank discussions on the 2008 450. It was what convinced me to stay with Ford on their new Superdutys. ( I would never own another chevy or dodge )

Re: 2008 F450

It's amazing isn't it. I only hope it continues(the engine). This truck is a real step up from the past in all aspects. I too cannot wait to go for a ride. Worked it hard for the first three weeks. I now have 3800 miles on her, but now it is mostly sitting in the driveway waiting for more work to be done in another month.

To me it is a quantum leap. They are going to sell a lot of these dudes when the public gets confidence in its reliability and fords dedication to stand behind it.

Re: 2008 F450

Thoren, I am also down sizing from a 43' toy hauler to a camper. I am waiting until later this week to order my camper. I want to here if Lance is going to make a double slide in a 11.5 w/ a couch. If not I am going to scoop up a Okanagan 117DBL. I just ordered a 450. What camper are you looking at? Have fun with the new truck they are sweet. It will turn as sharp as my 05 short box 350! Sweeeeeeeet!!!

Re: 2008 F450

I'm buying the Okanagan 116ULT. We just found that we were missing so many places because we couldnt fit in the small sites. We have a HR 36SKT. With the camper and 4X4 in the truck we will be able to go anywhere.

Go drain the water from your HFCM. That might give you something to complain about.

I doubt it - they have a drain LEVER and a hose nipple now!! At least if you're used to a 6.0L this would seem like heaven (and you'd ignore the fact that you have to wriggle under the truck to access it.)

Other than roadside emergencies where you're dumping fuel on the ground to get rid of water (not that any of *us* would ever do that, mind you) this is actually a better setup than the 7.3L trucks, where they hid the stupid pipe end up behind all the crossbracing, halfway down the front of the engine.
