2008 Ford Truck Source Book available for download

Bobby Williams has posted the SuperDuty pickup section of the preliminary online Ford Source Book on his website. You can get your copy by clicking the following link, then scrolling down to the bottom of the screen and right-clicking on the link to the Source Book. http://www.sunrisefordfleet.com/2008.htm

Please do not left-click on any of those links. That will tie up Bobby's server for a long, long time. Right click on the link, then click on "save target as", which will save the file to your hard drive. After you get it on your hard drive, get out of Bobby's site and open the file with your Adobe Reader. It's a 72-page PDF file, so it will probably be slow opening unless you have a gee-whiz fast computer.

For those that don't already know, the Source Book is intended to be used by Ford Salespersons to answer any technical questions a customer might ask. All sorts of specs and details, mixed in with lots of sales hype. The pro salespersons will have that puppy almost memorized within a few days of when it hits his desk. Unfortunately, Ford doesn't usually deliver the hard copy to the dealers until a month or so after the model year has already began. But it's nice to see that the Ford dealerpersons that care can access it on the web. Since the version Bobby posted for us is a PDF file, it's also very easy to print out your own copy, or just the 10 or 12 pages of specs that you really want. The SuperDuty pickup part is only 72 pages long. I printed mine last night.

Yes, this is the "preliminary" or draft version, so it still has some errors. For example, I saw one blurb that mentions the 6.0L engine instead of 6.4L. But it's a lot more detail than you'll find anywhere else. It includes specs on tires, wheels, rear axles, springs, and on and on. Get yours while they're hot. This is some great information on the new trucks. I do see, however, that the book still refers to the "old" 6.0L near the back starting around page 56 regarding weight ratings, etc. Must be a typo, but it happens on several pages after that as well.

Hopefully someone will see this and make appropriate changes.

hopefully before they issue it they correct all the references to the 6.0 in the weight tables

Great to have the Towing Guide, Order Guides, and Supplemental Reference
all online. One more thing would be nice: The 2008 SuperDuty Chassis Cab
Source Book.
