ford build their own like GM did back in the 1980s I hope they did better, I seen no real problem with the 6.4 it was do to the 6.0 ford terminated with Navistar.

The 6.0L did not meet the next tier of emissions requirements, hence the 6.4L. I bet when everything is said and done, the 6.4L, in it's 3 year life span, will end up costing Ford nearly the same as the 6.0L in it's 7 years of existance. Warranty repair costs are very very very high. Whenever there is an engine failure, Ford has the dealer do a cost cap. If it's over a certain mark, they usually send out an inspector and approve a engine. If the cost cap is below, the dealer repairs what ever the concern is (short block, cylinder head, ect.). Typical cost caps for me average $5,000 to $8,000 for a 6.0L. The last one I did for a 6.4L was nearly $18,000 after a horizontal EGR cooler went out. I believe the 6.7L will be a solid engine. Ford produces a lot of diesel engines in Europe and those are bullet proof. The 2011 is the only Super Duty I'd consider buying since the 7.3L

do you think part of the problem is how people are driving them? I run mine hard like all diesels I have ever driven and I tend to think that mine runs a little better for it.

. Exactly, this isn't Ford's first diesel rodeo. They have been building the top diesels in Europe and they spared no expense in the 6.7L. All the right parts are there, this could be the new "king of the dyno" motor. Buh bye International... Have you guys noticed the HUGE poke at International on the Mike Rowe videos........he starts a segment on the 6.7L by saying "if you want something done right, build it yourself"... classic!!
GF..good you updated on why 6.4L is gone like 6L. Until 6.7L hits the road its pure speculation on how it will be. Comparing europe fmc made diesel to mexico made remains to be seen, but I dont think it'll be comparing apples/apples JMO! At least your giving honest opinion considering how your job security has probably increased over the yrs. Anyhow..tks for help you provide.
