Ya, I got the same line back in december after they programed my truck. but mine was regenning every 100 miles...so i bought the cetain boost from ford and no difference. It warmed up here and now i can get about 150-170 miles between regens now without any addatives. i have played with several additives and can get about 250 miles between regens with the Lucas Diesel/gas conditioner and still experimenting with others to find which is the best bang for buck.

the problem is still the computer flash...and they wont reverse it so your SOL, and if your dealer is anthing like mine, you will get a bill for the troubleshooting because they will find nothing wrong with your truck.

Same issue here and you're right, it's the flash. What surprised me is it's regening every 150 km while pulling. Makes no sense. Sure it's burning more fuel but you'd think running high boost, high rpm generating a lot of heat would prolong the need.

Just found out that's what's up w/ mine too. I really don't like this newest flash at all. Mine regen'd 3 times in 230 miles yesterday! Message center says "cleaning exhaust filter" more than anything else. Ford has got to update this. This makes driving it difficult - especially if you try to not turn it off while in regen!

What would happen if say you DID turn it off during regen?

i knw it sucks but we gotta make EPA happy! boooooo! i wrk at the dealer and i have many customers come back and state that now their vehicle goes into regen all the time. the recal for 08b07 was specifcally for the regen. they changed the parameters on how and when the regen takes place. unfourtantly there is not a way to swap back to the stock calibration. we are going to have to deal with it untill we r out of 5/100! untill then just keep drivin and just let it clean...i knw u gotta do whut u gotta do but attempt to try to let it finish lol

I know there is a GVW issue but Obama wants 26 mpg for trucks - that will never happen. The MPG economy went to s*it with all the new pollution crap on these trucks compared to the 01-07 trucks.

I have a 2008 F-450 and yes the "cleaning exhaust" crap happens often but this past Saturday my motor started knocking extremely bad and after about a mile it locked up and literally blew all the oil out of the front main seal (front what I could see) and now I have a $55,000 truck with 20,300 miles on it sitting at a dealership in Hagerstown MD waiting to be looked at tomorrow. This truck has not even been put through anything it could have, hell I pulled a 8500lb toy hauler less then 200 miles and thats the only weight this truck has ever had on it. Any suggestions because I am demanding a new motor? Damn I wish this was the 7.3!!

Yea, the regens suck, but I'll still happily keep my 08. Growing up owning a Ford that got 8mpg whether I was pulling or not...I'm okay with this...and especially with the superior power vs the old. I get 8-9 mpg pulling my Toyhauler, about 12 mpg around town and about 16.5 mpg highway.

There are other emissions alternatives to the hardware and regen approach; the big 3 just did not choose to utilize them.

Make your vote count next time elections come up, whether on a local or national level.
