Does anyone know if they have tweaked the tranny at all or made any changes.

Agree. Different engine. Bigger engine.

No reason to think they have not made changes in the tranny.

Yeah hopefully we can hear about some of the tranny changes along with the engine changes. Sometimes we get so focused on the engine we forget the tranny. I loved the Torqshift in my 03 6.0, it was great.

From what I have read most of the internals are the same but they are going to use a dual stage triple plate torque converter. And they may have changed the cooler.

Re: 6.4 Torqshift Tranny

I have driven three or four 6.0Ls with the Torqueshift transmission. I am impressed with it. Very impressed.

I think it's better than the Allison in my dad's 2500HD D-max.

I want to know is it going to be wroth a crap for plowing snow. All the forward and back. Since the torqueshift now don't hold up to plowing snow.

Is that still true? They had those shafts that were dropping out under those conditions at one point, had a huge recall, and then I thought everything was OK. What are the failure modes now?

Re: 6.4 Torqshift Tranny

There was a recall on a part off the torqueshift addressing your snow plow concern. I think that problem has been remedied though so there should be no issues.
