6.4 Wins Tow Vehicle Of The Year...

Award in Trailer Boats Magazine. Maybe not the final say in whats best, but being a subscriber for over 10 years, I have always found the award to be pretty thorough and objective. The trucks were all 3/4 ton (Dodge,Chevy,Ford) and the test load was 9300#. In summary, the Ford won because it was the best towing platform. The suprise was that the Chevy finisihed a distant third, although in non- towing it ranked very well. Could the Ford be a ringer? It got 14.8 MPG Non towing(9.1 towing) which sounds a bit higher than what I've read on here...maybe I'm thinking F-450's. BTW, the Chevy got 16.8 MPG Non/9.4 MPG while towing. The Dodge; 15.4 Non/10.1 towing. Just an FYI.

Well I can't see why not a ringer.. I love the smooth ride and power. And the fourm here seems pretty quiet with no known large problems. The ones people are reporting are isolated it seems and some of the posts are about the nature of the beast.. Noise's typical to the design. Every engine is going to have a evolution of changes so to speak but this one may be getting off to a great start?

Keep our fingers crossed.

the mileage that 3/4 ton got was pretty comparable to most 250's out there.

No surprise here....best tow vehicle i've ever had. the mileage that was reported is consistent with what i'm getting. i just did a 5 tank average of my typical city/highway mix and it was 14.4.
