About to buy first diesel!

Hey guys,

I found a truck that I really like its a Ford 08 F-350 with 21000 miles for 30k. I think its a good deal but any way I started to look on the forums to see how people like the truck and so on. But now I'm scared that the motor (6.4) is no so hot and I should look for somthing else.

What do you guys think?

'08 F250, 6.4 PSD here also.

Going on 36k. No mods, all factory stock.

Had the radiator replaced under warranty and a few re-flashes. Other than that, all good.

The only gripe I have is the stupid, fuel wasting regens.

If you decide to buy, purchase the Ford ESP for peace of mind.

Good luck with your decision.

I bought mine through the selling dealer. I believe I paid around $1800.00 for it. I have a 6 yr. loan on the truck, so the added cost of the extended warranty was only a few bucks more on the monthly payment. Well worth it.

If you buy from private owner, I am almost sure you can go on-line to a Ford site and purchase the plan. Someone on here will chime in to verify this or correct me.

i know of a few 6.4 owners, all but one was happy, and it wasnt even his truck. it was a work truck that developed injector issues, and latter an engine. to be quite honest, i have ran across more unhappy 6.7 dodge owners.

I have 72000 miles on mine. One of my local dealers quoted me a price of 2380.00 for the ESP.

whatever you do, MAKE SURE you purchase the Ford ESP, not a 3rd party...or you will be sorry...
