any projection on reflash availability?

My truck is built and " in storage " at the Ford plant awaiting reflash. Does anyone know how long of a delay I should expect? Hours, days, weeks ? Have to go pick up my new fiver soon ...looks like I will have to use my "old " truck!

Re: any projection on reflash availability?

I spoke to the service manager while my '02 was getting a once over before the warranty expires. He said it took about 30 minutes to reflash all of the vehicles they have on the lot. I said, 30 minutes apiece? and he replied no 30 minutes total for about a 1/2 dozen vehicles. So I would not expect this to hold things up too much. I would guess logistically it would be better to apply the reflash at the dealerships where more hands are available but Mulally may decide to take care of it in house before they are shipped.

Re: any projection on reflash availability?

I was at my dealer Friday and they had an 08 F-350, chaasis in the shop and had just rerouted the battery cable and did the reflash. They said it was ready to go. Sounds like the reflash is already out there.

Re: any projection on reflash availability?

Mine was ordered on 12/30......built on 3/21 and is in storage with no delivery date per my dealer. Frustrating that the dealers are not getting much more info to tell us. I will post back soon as I learn more. Looks like a lot of us have our trucks in storage!!

Re: any projection on reflash availability?

The reflash is complicated and they are not sure it addresses all of the issues presented. They will guinea a few thousand and see what happens. Sad but true.

More than likely they are going to test injectors and turbos out before they ship them. I'm not in the know, but that is how it should be.

Re: any projection on reflash availability?

hmm. my truck already has the reflash. it was done at the plant this past wednesday, while my dealer was waiting to pick the truck up and take it to a local dealer to have it pdi'd, and then he delivered it to me. he told me that the entire process for the reflash took about 20-30 minutes. but i have over 1000 miles on it, and it hasnt regen'ed yet.
