Auto or manual transmission question

The original order was through AAFES Overseas Sales Program, but I took the order sheet to Cowles Ford in Woodbridge, VA and they were able to beat the AAFES price. They had a manual gasser there I was able to drive, and finally decided to keep the automatic. Cowles asked for $1000 deposit, and I haven't done any paperwork yet. Should be here in another four weeks or so.... Tony

I ordered and received my '08 stick in four weeks. No deposit was required on it, or my '05. This thing is fantastic! Smoother power delivery with the new engine. The tranny and shift pattern is identical across all three trucks I've had. A little stiff when cold, otherwise great.

I don't think the clutch is stiff at all- guess I've driven some stiffer clutches than most.

Who did you order from in Ohio? Isn't the no.2 Ford Volume Dealer in the U.S. in Ohio? I'd figure Galpin Ford in California hasn't lost that title yet
