Blown turbo 08 6.4

Hi there, curious if anyone else has blown the turbo on their 08 F350, I run an 8" rize lift and 20' rockstars with 38 by 15.5 MT. 2 days ago my turbo came apart while towing on the hwy and my local dealership is telling me I may not be covered by warranty with the large tires. The truck has approx. 60k , all recalls have been completed and other warranty work has been honored in the past, please contact me if anyone has had turbo problems on theirs or any similar problems.

Thanks DZ.

High pressure turbo failures are pretty common, I've replaced around 10 in the past few months.

It might if they can argue that the resulting odometer error would put you over the mileage limit of the warranty. But unless the new tires have almost twice the circumference of the stock tires, I don't see how that would be possible in this case.

That would be really extreme but I guess I would not put it past them.

Seems Ford will do anything to try and not honor a warranty based on anything they can think of. Typical Ford BS. Find a different dealer. You'll be surprised.

Tell them to fix it or bring it to another dealer. They have to prove that the aftermarket modifications caused the problem which they cannot. I am the service manager for a ford dealer and would not try to weasel my way out of it. We are putting high and
low pressure turbos, cac and doc and dpf filters due to high pressure turbo coming apart
contaminating the system. And the truck has mods. They are not the reason the turbo came apart though
