I have 11k on my 08 anytime you come to a stop and you let off the brake the truck can roll but as soon as you give it throttle it clunks like the ring n pinon is loose? (to much back lash) Took it to dealer they heard the same thing and felt it and told me there's a TSB that says don't attempt to repair? Anyone else have or feel this on there truck? Does the same with trailer or without.
I had the same indications on my 2004 Expedition. They ended up rebuilding the differential. I believe it was the clutches for the limited slip.

this feels more like maybe suspension is binding up ? but they said ford says not to repair that's it is just the way the SD are. I don't drive it that much but going on a long trip to go racing in the next couple of weeks and don't want to have any problems with it.
I had the same issue with my 09 F250 w/6 in lift. Felt like the rear dif was going bad. The carrier bearing had been replaced two months earlier and the mechanics forgot to lube the splines on the slip joint. Dealer re-lubed the slip joint, half hour later back on the road with no more problems. May be the same issue with yours?

I will try that it has not been in for anything other then rad but that's what it feels like will lube it up.
Just remove the four 8mm bolts holding it in at the rear pinion. You may need to tap the rear driveshaft forward a bit to get it free from the rear pinion yoke. Then once thats loose you can slide it back.
