The conspiracy theory and the 6.4L

Conspiracy theory from a month ago

Maybe my conspiracy theory was right....The stop shipment of engines from Navistar to Ford was due to a quality issue..

Now I'm going to predict who really killed JFK in my next series

Or better yet, I'm gonna play the lottery this week so I can afford a new truck..

Later

You are on to something

Spoke with individual at the Alabama International engine plant some time back just before they stopped building engines and this person did verify they were having injector issues....a supplier problem, but would not go any further.

Give me the winning lottery numbers now...

Well _if_ they are having injector problems, I wonder how far back the problem goes. Hopefully my 2008 won't have any issues!
None so far *knock on wood*.

That's a great point...if these new engines are so horrible, then why haven't we seen any major complaints (at least i didn't find any) from members of this forum who own one? I said it before, and I'll say it again...lets give this engine a chance to prove itself.

Re: The conspiracy theory and the 6.4L

I have been building assembly machines for just about 20 years.I have had most machines quailify to very high standards which usely involves a 8 hour run with less than 1% fault rate. Most faults happen due to out of spec parts that still haven't hade all the bugs worked out yet.Mostly good parts are made with a few boarder line and bad ones,However those bad parts are disposed of.I believe that after more product is made the parts will be tweaked in a little better to match the prototype pieces, so I agree lets give it a fair run for x months or so....

I remember the "Good old days". Leaded gas and changing
plugs all the time. Not to mention what diesels were like.
You can have them along with out houses.

Re: The conspiracy theory and the 6.4L

The ijector thing is CORRECT. I know someone directly involved in the plant that manufactures them. That manufacturer recalled about 50K injectors. That is a good thing. Better they recall them then let you find them in your new $50K truck. Time will tell if they got em all.

Give this engine a chance to sink or swim. When I test drove one it was smooth as silk and very strong.

Now now, I'm not anti ford, actually I'm PRO FORD, but, ya gotta admit...it does seem like it was awful convenient that the production stopped, and now we find there are som production pains during the first few months, bla bla bla... I

I want this truck to be better than all of the others combined..

It was just a theory....

I hope that I'm drueling over everyones 08,, I just wish they wouldn't have wasted the 04-07 headlight upgrade on them... I like that front end so much better than the latest design..

But as usual, I'm sure I'll have one sooner or later.. I'm just not wealthy enough to purchase the latest and greatest all the time... I'm more of a tried and true, almost like new type of guy...

I suppose that's why I'm debt free...

I didn't want to come across as a brag BTW, as it doesn't come without pain and a lot of strong will, especially with 3 kids and friends that are all building new houses, but the money I'm saving alone in interest is building a nice little account..not to mention, if I loose my job... I don't loose my house, car, truck, camper etc...

I made a plan of being debt free in 3 years... and at that point I was over 50K in debt... Fortunately, I beat my plan and still managed to take the kids to Disney twice... but like I said, it takes a lot of determination and naturally a plan....

Re: The conspiracy theory and the 6.4L

I only have 800 miles on my 08 F350, but so far it is the best I have had of 5 since 1988.
Lots of power, very quiet, and comfortable.
