Does anyone know if the new radiators going in have actually been redesigned or something? So that we're not just getting another ~15,000mi before another problem?

They are supposed to be a certified fix after some day in 08/2007. Build process was supposed to have been corrected.

If the radiator leak is a given in ones built before 8/07 and I don't question it, why doesn't Ford do a recall and changes the ones effected?

Sounds like 20,000 miles is the mark. My job 1 went in today @ 19,200 miles. Other than this it's been great.

Probably because they (incorrectly) think it's cheaper NOT to, and would rather only pay for the immediate repairs on trucks currently leaking.

<rant>
They'd rather wait until the truck runs low on coolant, doesn't notify the driver in time (people have reported the temp gauge never indicated a problem until it was way too late), the water pump gets cavitation damage from lack of coolant, the egr coolers overheat and suffer damage from lack of coolant. Then after the radiator repair, the truck goes back into the shop for tons of white smoke (not to be confused with regen smoke), to find the damaged egr coolers leaking coolant into the recirculated exhaust gas going through the combustion chamber (or, if the problem isn't noticed for a long time, run the risk of hydro-locking the engine because the slowly leaking, damaged egr coolers start to REALLY leak).
</rant>

Well the verdict on mine is a radiator replacement with 12000 miles on it.While it's there they are re-flaching the ECM and doing the seat recall on the seat brackets.

Add me to the list of leaking radiators, started Monday. Just a little spot on the ground. Did it again Tuesday morning, Tuesday afternoon nothing!!. Called the dealership and they told me that without it actively leaking not to bring it in. Nothing all day Wed. Started again Thursday afternoon, So I took it straight to the dealer. They said yep, needs a new radiator. They can't get to it until next Tuesday. I'm off on Wednsdays and if they had let me bring it to them this past Tuesday it would have been fixed already. Tech looked at it and said to keep driving it, as it is a very minor leak. Gonna be hauling horses this weekend, about a 150 mile trip each way. Hope it holds up!! Has anyone had theirs just let go? 9500 miles/ Job 1/ Build date 04/07

Mine is def low on coolant and I have something dripping off my frame up front - it seemed like oil not coolant though - I thought it was power steering fluid - is the coolant in these things kind of oily looking?
