Days to replace radiator?

I thought Job 3 trucks were safe from this problem, but I guess not.... One thing to note I had the venturi T from the factory not a recall fix.

For those of you that had the radiator replaced, how long does it take? I am at 33,000 miles and mine has started leaking. So I am going to make the appointment to get it fixed.

Where mine is leaking is on the lower drivers side at the seam where the aluminum is crimped to the plastic end. I just noticed it on Friday when I was getting ready to leave as I just loaded the truck with parts to go on a job.

Other notes on the leak is after I noticed it I wiped it clean and then drove it home and after 6 hours of the truck sitting - everything still dry. This morning go out to look at it and crap a drip on the frame horn. My thinking is when the radaitor is hot it's not leaking cause it is hot and expanded. When it cools the leak opens up.

Have any of you gotten a loaner vehicle at no charge for this warranty repair?

My truck would do the same thing. When i brought it in for the leak they did a presure check and it did not leak they said it was ok, when i picked it up ther was a puddle of coolant under truck ,got the tech to come out and look at it and oh the radiator has a leak (no s--t thats why i brought it here). Had to order a radiator once they got it in it they only needed on day to do it, Good Luck

I guess I should take a picture with the camera as evidence and proof.

One thing to note - when they pressured it up and it did not leak - was the engine hot?

I am a mechanic in pipeline construction and we have several 6.4s. Takes about 2 hours drive up to drive off, unless youre in a hurry. We can't have our trucks at the dealership for even a day so we replace a lot of parts covered by warranty. Gas fuel pumps, power steering pumps, radiators and such. Our engines are running about 3,000 hours run time in 25,000 miles. That's an average speed of 8.3 mph. Compared to my personal 6.0 that has 100k at 3,000 hours. If you do you,re own, pull the intercooler, the upper core support, intercooler pipes, peel the other coolers to the side, remaining 2 bolts out of the bottom half of the shroud, upper and lower radiator hoses. Other then the lower shroud bolts all this is done standing in front of the pickup.

I was really hoping Job 3 trucks avoided the rad problems. I haven't heard of as many rad problems with the job 3 trucks though.

Mine is proof that they (Job 3) are not immune to the leak free radiator.

Thats good news. I will be taking mine in after I get back home. I spoke with the parts department at the dealer and they have one in stock and two on order.

45 minutes? I don't know about that. The service writer told me when they did my radiator it was half day tear down and half day reassemble.

I'm not a mechanic, but looking at the radiator and all the stuff that needs to come off just to get to it, seems like a longer job than 45 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, you may be right. Like I said, I'm no mechanic.
