Dealer told me a story about reflash?

I took the 6.4 in for it's first oil change(will be the only dealer LOF) and seat recall yesterday. I also asked him to reflash the pcm to the current version.

He told me that he could do it, but it would cost me. I told him about the white smoke and "surging" and fast idle at stoplights (both true stories). He again said he could reflash it, but it would cost me.

When he called to say the service was complete, I again asked him about the latest reflash. He said that he "scanned" the truck and found that it had no issues (like the pcm will tell him it blew white smoke and lunges at idle...?)

I don't know how else to approach it with him, guess I'll try another dealer? Or tell him he'll be the second phone call I make after the truck walks into the car in from of me. The first will be to Ford to tell them that the service manager at O** S******* Ford did nothing when I complained about it...

Any other ideas? Thanks, Tim

tell your dealer, its not going to throw codes. the white smoke is normal, and they wont do anything about it. but the elevated idle in gear, or with your foot on the brake is not. If you search, i have a thread about the same issue, and i believe i list the tsb number that deals with what a regen should do. Tell your dealer you are very concerned about your truck pushing you through a light during a regen. As them to have the tech scan your pcm for the calibration, and compare it with the newest one(i know for sure i list the newest calibration, at least the newest at that time)

I was just at dealer today for filter change and transmission service. I asked about the flash regarding the high idle. He stated that there is one out there and he will not flash my truck until the one they put it on proves itself and doesn't create any other problems. I am to call him back in three weeks and he will flash mine without a problem or charge if it proves to be good.

He stated that he did not want to create any aggravation for me or himself. I am fine with that.

I wish I had that support from my (old) dealer. My truck is a 6/07 build job 1 with the original tune. They won't even give me the old new one. Oh well, maybe time to head to Whaling Ford out to New London (Thanks Mr. Skid).

Tim

Talk to Scott, he is the head diesel tech there and is extremely helpful and keeps you informed of every little detail he does to your truck, very good experience every time i've had to deal with him.
