Sitting at 86k and my engine light came on yesterday. It hasn't gone into limp mode as of yet but it is constantly going into regen as soon as the engine is up to temp. I drove it for about 45 miles at highway speeds today and it never quit. Went for another drive a few hours later and went into regen again. I'll be going by the dealer within the next day or so. Hopefully it's just a clogged DPF. From what I understand it should be covered for 100k. What do you guys think?
Just dropped the truck off at the dealer, they didn't have time to run the codes while I waited. Supposed to hear from them in the morning so I'll post an update then.
Well I've decided to finish out my warranty if whatever they decide is wrong with is covered. Im fairly certain it's the dpf filter. If it is and they won't cover it for some reason then it's all coming off!

Certainly a wise decision if you travel.

Well called dealer for an update. They said I have 3 of the 5 exhaust sensors that are out. That's causing the engine light and pcm is telling engine to go into regen constantly. None of it is covered by warranty and them little babies aren't cheap either. Said around $900 with parts and labor. Told him to hold off for now. Called by buddy at my local accessory shop and ordered a 4" turbo back system and a H & S Minimax. Actually came out cheaper than the repair bill (i get a buddy discount :-)). Will be here in the morning and installed that afternoon. To hell with the EPA and their crap!
I've noticed I'm having more and more Regins here lately also, but no check engine light (yet). I don't notice it starting or hear it always. Without the Insight gauge I'd miss 1/2 of them.
I hope this isn't the start to the same problem radiation0512 is having.
It's also hard to understand why this wasn't under warranty for him.

Service writer said that the actual dpf would have been covered but the other exhaust components are not. That always seems to be my luck with this truck. Although I did have to have the HPFP replaced at about 55K but it was luckily covered. Can't wait to get my new stuff on and let her breathe like she should have been to begin with.
What a bunch of crap that they find a way to weasel out of covering parts that should be covered. That does not make any sense that the exhaust is covered but not the components that monitor it.
I think you'll be happy with your decision. Less wear on your truck, since you don't have to heat the exhaust up to 1200 degrees any more, and you sure picked a good time to get better fuel economy. Let us know your mpg improvement.
Well, I just got all the new goodies installed! All I can say is why did I wait so long to do this? She's running like a champ now and best of all, no CEL!
