DPF fuel burn
Heres a quote from page 60 of truck trend magazine, they were doing power pulling truck comparisons.
"DPF regen requires up to 3/5 gallon of deisel to be injected into the soot-trap to spike the temperatures needed to turn the soot to ash, but ford claims this hasn't affected fuel economy. Of note the power stroke performance improved by over 1.5 MPH up the seven percent grade immediatly following a regeneration cycle."
So it seems more fuel is burned leading up to regen as the dpf gets dirty, and then the fuel to clean it.
