me and a buddy drove a new 6.4 today, very nice interior, sure rides tons better then my 02 ,was a little dissapointed in the power it had, my buddy and me think my 02 is much faster from a stop and go and highway passing. we were thinking with a big load hooked up it would show its power. very nice truck. the dealer would not come down much, 48 he wanted. f250 lariat crew cab. with a programer on it , it would fly.

Hell yes, look at Spartan tuners and you'll never wipe the smile off your face. For a crap load of trucks with them on check out the diesel garage dot com. Of course for best results remove a certain section off your exhaust, offroad use of couse...... lol
Smokin' something that's for sure. Give Bobby Williams of Sunrise Ford (Fontana, CA) a call. I hear he's quite the man when it comes to stealing whatever it is you have your eyes on.
In Sept 2007 I got $8K off MSRP, so make sure you shop around. You may get it cheaper by finding another Ford dealer with a stong truck salesman to do a dealer trade on the one you want and sell it to you for LESS.

Well 08 is heavier but a lot more powerful so I'd say it's still quicker.
As for price, my dealer knocked off 17k of a 54k MSRP without me saying a word. I was aiming for 20 but now think even better may be possible. I'm never normally patient but rushed into my Tundra so need to take my time and get the best deal possible, especially with the expensive non-engine related mods I'm planning.
I'm not sure I understand all this brouhaha about pricing. When I got my truck, I got it based on the X-Plan pricing. I did happen to see what the A-Plan pricing was as well, but as I did my shopping, I found that the dealerships were almost always the same price no matter where I went. A few were actually higher than others because they were sneaking in fees. And a few others were "throwing in" add-ons that I hadn't asked for, nor had the intention of purchasing to begin with.
BTW - one dealership faxed me a copy of the window sticker, but forgot to black out the VIN. I took that VIN number and went to different dealerships to ask them to find **that** truck without me telling them that I knew how much the truck was worth. Even after doing this, I still got different numbers... despite the fact that I told them I wanted X-Plan pricing.
The dealership down the hill from me wanted to charge me $900 to install an "alarm system" on the truck I wanted to buy. It's an XLT WITH the factory alarm system; tell me.... why would I need to pay them $900 to give me something I already have?
Get prices from three or four different dealerships in your area, then call Bobby Williams of Sunrise Ford (Fontana, CA). You will very likely be on a plane trip to L.A. within the week. :-)
I got my price from the dealer with the most trucks on the lot. I wold say they had over 30 250/350s and four of them were KRs. Mine had been there since Feb, and had an MSRP of 57+, so they were anxious to see it go. This is the time to buy one of these trucks but shopping around is the key.

Here in central Illinois they are offering up to $12,000 off on selected superdutys. Probably will just order one after the first of the year, never can find the options I want with dealer stock.
