EGT Gauge - Diesel Forum

I never got around to putting an EGT gauge on my 2002 Power stroke...I just guessed at cool down intervals, and backed out of the throttle on long hills etc. Now I have a 2007 on order...and see that Ford really doesn't offer one. After all these years..why do you suppose ford doesn't offer one? Are the newer trucks just not as sensitive..especially if you keep them dead stock? Actually I would rather know my EGT than my Turbo boost. What do you do with Turbo boost numbers in a stock configuration...do you back out of it when the boost gets too high?

Just wondering how you have an 07 on order? The reasoning (not that I agree) is if you keep the rig stock, you won't need a pyro.

I ordered thru a broker..who had been told by Ford that he could order. I haven't seen anything ack yet...so maybe I only have an order with the broker...will have to follow up!
