6.4L Power Stroke Engine and Drivetrain Discussion of the 6.4L Power Stroke diesel engine and drivetrain in the 2008 Super-Duty trucks. No gas engine discussion allowed except on transmissions and drivetrain that pertain to all models. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.4L Power Stroke engine.

Exhaust smell in cab?

I am starting to smell exhaust smell in my 08 f-350 and the tone of the motor has changed. Also I am getting a hesatation on occasion. Windows are up with heat on and I smell it about 10 seconds after stopping at a light. Once I get going it goes away. any ideas???

I'd look at the turbo to exhaust pipe clamp, a few ppl have had thease fail. and it's in about the rite place to wind up in the heater intake while at a standstill.

Mine did the same thing when it was new up to about 3500 miles then it went away
