Extended Warranty

I bought a new 2010 super duty with the 6.4
It will come in next week by what the dealer says
I want to know about adding the extended warranty
What is retail and what is dealer cost
And is there more then one warranty to buy through Ford?

Thanks for any help...

Don't know the dealer costs, but these sites will give you plan information.

Congrats to you on your purchase.

I pick my truck up on Monday. I bought the maintenance pro package. 100K oil, filter, brakes and many more things for about $2900.00. After adding up the schedule it will be way worth the money spent. That is considering the every 5K oil changes ...like 33 of them at well over $100.00 per. Now I have not mentioned all the other maintence checks, inspections and top offs they will do.....every 5K miles! The way I see it.. for th first 36, everything that happens to the truck they own. Tough to argue that point.

What I found was that when you purchase the premium care package, flushes, oil changes.. fluids and the like are not covered. On the original 36 month B to B warranty they aren't either. Considering this info, my choice was to use the 36 B to B for mecahnical issues which it is for anyway, and then purchase the maintenance for fluids and all the rest. I will get the Premium care package in time which will continue the 36 B to B and I'll still have the premium maintencance package in place.

They give me a card that is good at any F dealership in the USA, wherever I am . I take it in and its done. Sure scheduling will have to be done pre arrainged.. it is all good. Permanent vacation will suffice.

Another thing which will be covered under the maintenance package is possibly 1 or two brake jobs, all the filters that belong on the truck, flat tires.. and much more. I held off ( for now) on the extended warranty as I can purchase it up until I expire the 36K or 36 months on the truck. I will just keep my eye on timeframes. The price was at 2800.00 right now figured into the contract with the dealership break. That is considering it was part of the original contract.

My dealer told me that it will most likely cost me $500.00 more when I purchase it before the end of three years or 36K. I can wait. I figured bumper to bumper for 36 either way will work just fine.

Again congrats and good luck on your choice.

was that a line item on the sales receipt? is it called a maintenance pro package?

my plan for when i pick up my truck is to get the 5k service plan and the complete ford esp (it will be good piece of mind for me and will extend the mileage out to 100k).

is there any haggle room for these plans? my only concern is that i will 90% purchase from my dealer for sure since i can just roll it into the loan and then i am done, but if the price diff is huge from another source, i will consider that as well (especially if the dealer doesn't budge).

I considered the same plans for the same reasons. After we talked he said it made sense to drop the ESP on warranty and save 2900.00 which over 3 years i could save it back, add the 500.00 and buy that plan then. At current, we get that plan up to 36K anyway, to pay for it again on the first 36, gets you a little better price added in.. but I chose the cheaper payment on what I borrowed. All said and done, I am paying the same price that I paid on my Jeep, which is about 330.00 per month. Going into retirement, it seemed like the right thing to do. I will pay down the equity also to pay less interest ande dissolve this payment sooner. Two years and this truck is paid for.

As far as the maintenance plan, he was able to line item it. It is called premium maintenance package. I went back late last night and found it in the ford maintenance programs. The dealer can give you a better price up front on purchase than he can say after a few years and prior to the end of your 36x36. I opted not to get the extended warranty as i said un til I get close to end of 36x36. why pay for it for the life of the loan when you can save a little bit a month and then slap it down right before the end of the new vehicle warr.

It will cost me about 500 more dollars but I will get up to 100K ...actually more like 64K but it is all covered. and the maintenance plan is still in tact.

I plan on keeping my truck for quite some time and I bought the dieselcare plus program that extends my engine warranty out to 7 years 200,000 miles. This is where big money can be spent even things like turbos can get expensive fast. This plan cost me $2300 at 36K.

I saw this package.. I think it is a great deal for what it offers. I most likely will be purchasing this also before I get to 36K.

Give Troy Dietrich at Ford of Greenfield Mass. an E mail. All he does is sell extended warranties and he sells a lot of them. Consequently the prices reflect the volume. I got prices on the net and from the dealers around the area where I live and none could match let alone beat his. His e mail is TDietrich@FD-Warranty.com

Are you sure the maintenance package includes changing the oil every 5K miles as opposed to the service manual figure of 10K miles?

I paid appx $1800 for the Diesel EngineCARE back in August. It was $150-ish over dealer cost.

I've been interested in removing the DPF and running stock power tune after my 36k.

I assume that with any of these plans they would deny coverage if they saw that? (Unless of course I was reinstalling the DPF each time)

I'm not sure, but I'd be interested to know also.
