For those interested I had my truck on the scale today. (see sig.) Full tank of fuel, me 180lbs, Line-X bed liner 9310lbs. I have been resetting my computer with each refueling. Computer reports 13.2 MPG, hand cal is also 13.2 MPG mixed city and country driving solo. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Your bed liner must be heavy. My F450 weighed 9100 lbs. The new 2011 must weigh about 5000 lbs after Ford takes out the Dana 110 , the 19.5 wheels, the big brakes and who knows what else.
How many miles you have on that bad boy Pilot? Thats not too bad of mileage.

I am liking the mileage but I see yours has a manual, which is probably at least 1 MPG better? I can hope mine gets that. It will be awhile as my truck has only 346 miles on it. My goal is after his is broke in 12 MPG towing my fifthwheel. My 02 F350 got right at 12 with the 3:73 but I was pulling overweight and only sometimes I was in OD. This new truck should get 12 pulling with I will be happy with.
anybody know where I can get a few smaller tool boxes for my truckbed toolbox? I need less that 8" in height as that is the depth of this tool box with the fuel tank below it.
thanks

Good Luck! I have never hit double digits unloaded and get 5-7mpg towing my Weekend Warrior. My truck came it at 9,040 lbs with 3/4 tank of fuel. It is an auto with 4:88s.

worse case scenario is I don't get 10 plus. But then again, I did not buy this for its mileage.. as most if not all, haven't.
I wonder how much difference the 4:88s make. A guess puts you going down the road doing 60 at maybe 2100 RPMs? I know my 4:30s have me closer to 2000 at 60 MPH. It would seem the higher the rpm the more fuel burned, the warmer the tranny temps get and maybe even engine heat. That was the way it was on my 7.3L with a 3:73 gearing. Out of OD pulling at 63 MPH I was at 2450 RPMs. I know there is a difference and it will effect fuel mileage, just don't know how much.

55 mph is 2000 rpm and 68 mph is 2500 rpm with 4:88s. I don't really drive faster than 70 mph. It runs like a sewing machine from 2500 to 3500 rpm... nice and smooth. I didn't buy it for mileage but thought it would be better. After all it is a diesel right? I am happy because it is 1000x better than my old F250 V10!
Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been out of town the past week. Truck has been geting 13.2 mpg mixed, mostly country but some interstate driving solo. On the interstate I usually cruise 60 to 65 mph. I have only pulled my 11,000 lb. 5th wheel once so far and not a long enough trip to report the mpg's while towing. I have a little over 2k on it now. I can say that while pulling the trailer is is night and day better then with my old truck.
