Foil Removal...?

I am wondering based on the ford site:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/Trucks/2008superduty/

Since the fuel injectors and pump are being located under sealed aluminum covers...

I was wondering if it is possible to remove those aluminum covers...

Would it be just like the foil delete on the 7.3's???

Does anyone have a pick on what those covers look like, and how difficult it would be to remove them?

Re: Foil Removal...?

Sure, you could remove them, but it would make a big mess and you would have to add oil quite often!

The injector and rail covers are also the valve covers. Also, the valve cover bolts also support the turbo U-tube on the LH side of the engine.

You wouldn't want to remove the fuel pump cover either. The fuel pump is connected to the rear gear train. A lot of oil splash back there, too.

Re: Foil Removal...?

Removing the valve covers and valley cover is NOT AT ALL like removing the foil insulation from the hot-side CAC tube on the 7.3L.

Why, pray tell, would you want to do that? For that early-1900s vintage exposed-valvetrain-and-total-loss-oiling-system vibe?
