Effective 8/24/2008 FSA 08B07 is suspended until further notice. There's nothing wrong with the program, it's the software that us tech's use to perform the FSA. The IDS software is flawed and in some cases, while uploading the calibration onto the PCM or right after it's finished the IDS software freezes or crashes. When this happens it basically erases the Transmission Control Module and the data cannot be retrieved. When the TCM is blanked out the engine will not crank because the CAN network does not see the TCM (TR sensor indicating park or neutral). Replacement of the TCM is required and can take a long time to get one since it's usually on back order. Just a heads up, if you've had 08B07 done don't worry, the calibration is not the problem. FYI: All you tow truck/wrecker/construction guys that idle all day long....... change your oil every 5,000 miles or 200 hours as per your PSD owner's guide supplement in your glove box. I saw 6 trucks this past week that had 4,000 to 8,000 miles on the odometer but according to the hour meter they had 15,000 to 22,000 miles on the engine. 22,000 miles without an oil change on a 6.4 is no bueno.

thank you very much for your informative post. i had csp 08B07 performed on my j-3 psd on tues, 21 oct, with NO problems. it's ford workers like you that will help earn my business for ford in the future...........
They now have my MPG in single digits. 9mpg with highway and light traffic, no revs over 2 grand. Thankfully they drove the trucks ten million miles before they sold them no telling how much worse they would have been. Stay away from this truck it is JUNK.

Only option that matters is the-break-me-at-the-bank 6.4 ltr that get 40% less fuel economy than a 7.3 ltr 43 days in the shop in 24 months...worst vehicle I have ever owned, period. Lemon Lawed and GONE, was the Best day of ownership. Official truck ofOPEC (they thank you for not caring about 11mpg).

I would be curious as to what operating system the techs are using for the ones where the IDS software locks up. They are using laptops correct, any of them using Vista??? May be a compatibity issues. We run into this a work when developing programs, so for now we are xp pro only.
I'm not sure when they will bring it back. I have heard nothing good about the FSA, I don't even like doing them because 2 out of 10 times it crashes. Ford says for IDS the computer must run XP Pro Service Pack 2. IDS runs on Vista, just have to turn off all the firewalls and dosen't work sometimes. It sucks because if someone dosen't want to fork over the money for a Panasonic Tough Book that Ford uses, finding a lap top that runs XP Pro is nearly impossible. I use a Macbook with Bootcamp and XP Pro.

Superchip tuners? After this flash debacle, when can we expect Flashpaq to write a program for us (hopefully few) so we can go back to using our tuners?
Or, will they write one or simply wait for the next flash from Ford........
Just had my Job #1 reflashed Friday along with the venturi install. 08B07B.5 is the auto tranny release while 08B07C.4 is for manual transmissions. Mine is a manual so no problem. Still haven't seen anything on the message center about regens though. Mileage seems to be a bit better (.5 mpg)
