Fuel Additives?

Does anyone use Fuel additives at every fill up? I was searching around and saw Diesel Kleen it says its safe for ULSD engines and helps with condition the fuel system, cleaning the injectors, and everything...SOunds promising. Anyone use it? Thanks!

Re: Fuel Additives?

Yes. Every gallon of fuel burned in the truck in my signature below for 74K miles. No engine/fuel related issues to date.

Re: Fuel Additives?

Check with ford, due to all the new emmisions stuff I was told that fuel additives can potentially cause problems and will void warranty.

Re: Fuel Additives?

Yep, make sure the additive explicitly notes that it's compatible with ULSD and all the new emissions equipment.

Re: Fuel Additives?

I have been using (Diesel Kleen) for a couple months and don't see any mileage increase at all. I use 1oz per 3 gallons....

Re: Fuel Additives?

I wouldnt do it for MPG increase...I am driving an 8000lb truck...MPG isnt on the top of my list or i would of bought a honda...lol just busting your balls...

But yeah I wouldnt do it for the MPG I would do it for the lubricity, and cleaning properties...any MPG increase would be icing on the cake!

Re: Fuel Additives?

Stanadyne Performance formula has been updated for the new ULSD fuel. I have been using it in all my Super Duties since 1999.The last case I ordered in December took awhile to get because they were changing the formula to be compatible with the new fuel.
