Typically, brake, Fuel and Transmission Lines are manufactured in O.E. steel and/or stainless steel. Most of the seals are flare fittings. I gotta know, why you ask?

I've got access to some high quality bio-diesel and I didn't know if any of the fuel lines still used rubber seals. I'm not really excited about going through everything and switching to viton.

You're about 12 yrs to new to worry about it. They made that switch in 96.

Fresh, high quality bio-diesel should run just fine all the way up to B-100 if the temps permit. Rapeseed or soy based methyl esters are good to about 40 before they start to gel. If you are considering home made, be anal about your QC

Remember, though, Ford is sticking with the injector manufacturer's published stance of no more than 5% bio-diesel, so if you have a problem with the fuel system , they may not cover the repair. But they won't cover bad #2, or if you put ATF, 2cycle oil or anything else in the tank either.

Good to know. By temps permitting, I'm assuming you mean so that it doesn't gel when cold?

don't forget that any use of biodiesel in the 6.4L automatically puts you into the severe service maintenance category which may skew your decision dollar-wise depending on how much you drive.

how would using bio-diesel put me in the severe service category?

That's Ford's published way of covering their butts.

Biodiesel is to easy to make at home, and if the QC isn't held really high or if the fuel gets really old, (1yr or so - as it IS biodegradable), it can cause problems, and they want to minimize their exposure to warranty repair.

If you use good quality commercial fuel or make your own to a high standard, then the only limiting factor is the temp it will gel at. One thing that you have to be careful of is water content. Any water at the injectors will flash into high pressure steam, and that will tear injectors apart quickly.

If you make your own, and need to store it, store it in a container that has a dessicant in the breather line, so that as you dispense fuel you draw in dry air.
