Fuel Tank Size!

I'm suprised to find that my '08 shortbed fuel tank is smaller than my '04 shortbed fuel tank! I actually ran my truck dry the other day and it look right at 31 gallons to fill it all the way to the cap. I put 35 in my '04 one time! Both of them had been harpooned and both filled to the cap. I would kill to have that additional 4 gallons in my '08!

You need a bigger tank on the new one because of the crummy fuel economy.

Short bed has the smaller tank. Long bed has the 38 gallon tank. My long bed is my daily driver, about 60 miles round trip per day. I was able to go about 24 days this last time without filling my truck up! Damn right bigger tanks rock!

Just get a Transferflow auxiliary fuel tank. Problem solved! :-)

Sorta. It just means you fill up when prices are lower and/or when you're traveling through a cheaper state than your home state :-) While both tanks have locking caps I tend to back into parking spaces to avoid drawing attention to the tank from people driving by. No sense tempting fate...

I always back in because it's easier to back in than it is to back out. If someone's going to jack your fuel, they're going to jack it whether your truck's backed in or not!
