Got My New One - Diesel Forum

You know, I have spent the last 6 months reading the different forums about the 6.4, and most have been slamming the engine. I finally decided to buy one and ordered a F350 KR, long bed, 3.73, with all the bells and whistles, nav and all and picked it up and drove a 6.4 for the first time.

Let me tell you, this is the greatest truck ever made by any manufactor. It is truly unbelievable! I have an 06 KR and sold an 07 6.0 KR to get this new one, so I am familiar with the powerstroke.

Drove the 27 miles to work with 457 miles on the speedometer and got 17.5 by the lie-0-meter.
Drove home in bumber to bumber heavy traffic, and got 16 on the lie-o-meter. If this truck got 6, I would still love to drive it, it is wonderful. Ford got it right this time!!!!!!!!

But anyway, sounds great and enjoy. I've had all the diesels all the way through from the 6.9 to here. This one is really a pleasure to drive.

Excellent mileage right off the bat to boot. My favorite gadget is still the mirrors. Very handy. G luck with the new ride.

Hey 1968mustang, just got mine yeserday and I havent even drove it yet. The wife has had it out twice and just took it to work, something is so wrong with that! It looked great in the driveway when I got home last night though. Good luck with it!

It's very nice to hear positive comments from someone who owns a new truck as opposed to negative comments from someone who doesn't. Congrats on the new ride. Swatguy-what are you thinking? That's just not right....

i agree, mirrors are a great gadget. i can't tell you how many times i had to fold them in to keep from scraping drive thrus, or how many times i left on a trip and had stop and tell my wife or kids to get out and pull the mirrors out for towing!!!!!
