Got the truck--Pics!!

After a very anticipated 6 weeks, I finally got my truck.
At my request, my dealer added the 6" Skyjacker lift and Steering Stabilizers, Bushwacker Flares and Toyo 37"x13.50-20 MTs w/ Chrome Eagle Alloy 114s. My awesome sister and brother-in-law surprised me by having him add the drop down steps that activate when any door is opened. First attempt at pictures...please bear with me. BTW, Ford did a knock out job on the 08' and the 6.4 for that matter. Since I'm going camping this next weekend, I had to adjust my hitch and make sure the truck was good to go. I'm surprised how well the truck accelerates with the big tires. The 08's are better than I ever imagined!

Thanks a bunch. The camera lens had some smudges on it...I didn't catch till I put on the computer. I'll take more later. It did turn out really good. I couldn't be happier.

Re: Got the truck!!

Good looking truck!

Be sure to put some miles on the truck before you go camping this weekend! IIRC, you should put 500 miles on before towing.

Also, while not mandatory, you may want to add some air bags on the back end to level up the rear when towing.

Re: Got the truck!!

or save a ton of money and just put Timbrens in the rear. I have nothing but good things to say about them from experience. Plus you don't have to deflate, inflate, etc.. If you need to pick up a heavy load from out of the blue, your ready. You can find them online for $159, free shipping, tax free.

Re: Got the truck!!

It rides better than any other car I own...A 2007 Escape and 2000 Honda Accord. Given the lift and big tires, I sure didn't expect this. The truck this replaced was a 1994 F250. I sure didn't need a new truck since it had only 64k pampered miles on it and pretty much looked and ran like new. However, it rode like a tank, hence removing any enjoyment in driving it. Due to the comfort of the 08', I will be close to 500 mi or more before I take it camping and the first tow this weekend. It's truly a pleasure to drive. Additionally, thanks for the heads up on the Timbrens, I had Air Rides on my last truck and was about to buy some for this one, but I'll do some research first. I sure like the idea of not worrying about air.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Got the truck--Pics!!

Very nice Brad!! I was wondering when you'd have it done! Did you recalibrate the speedo? Springs or blocks in the rear? Sorry for the q's. I'm just inspired to get my own under way.

Re: Got the truck--Pics!!

My dealer did everything for me. I told them what I wanted and picked it up per the picture. However, I did do some detail work on it to get rid of the residual from the train ride to Utah. They also calibrated the speedo. On my way home I passed a couple of the signs that post your speed in a construction zone. It appeared the speedo was right on. I'm loving the truck.

Re: Got the truck--Pics!!

Which dealer did you go through? Some around S.L are pretty good about lifts and stuff, but man some will try to blame a lift on any problem that you try to get warranty work on.

Beautiful truck by the way. I'll wave if I see you rolling around town. I'll be the silver '02 with an '08 tailgate!

Re: Got the truck--Pics!!

The headlight treatment is still a little weird, but the '08s are really growing on me.

Nice looking truck, btw, and I am so glad to hear Ford has a winner with these new Super Duties.
