on the throttle pretty hard yesterday....truck fell on its face then rebounded...threw a code on my edge insight and turned on the check engine light...the code it threw was p0091 regulator 1 control circuit low???

Nope, does not have any hesitation no matter how hard I press the go pedal. Than again, my truck is completely stock.

I didn't want to say anything, being that this is my first PS, but, when I nail mine, it takes off good, falls on it's face, catches itself, then runs like a violated ape. Done this since day 1. I was hoping this was normal (to a point). No codes, all stock. Any ideas? Tim

P0091: Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit Low.

How Set:
Self Test - Key On Engine Off OR
Key On Engine Running OR
Continuous Operation

Brief Description
This error occurs if a short to ground or, during the KOEO self test, a current that is excessively high is found in the fuel pressure regulator (PCV) circuit.

Software parameters Required to Set Code
Short to ground: 0V
> 3A.

Service Instructions / Parts Replaced
Wiring to PCV, PCV electrical system.

shes at the dealership....gotta have a new harness and its located under the turbos

so the cab comes off and the harness gets replaced.they had to order the parts hope it wont be down too long...gonna sneak by in the am and get some shots of her with her skirt up

Did you take your Edge off before it went in? Just curious how picky dealers are getting now a days with all the new stuff consistently having goof ups on their own with out added things to help them goof up.

yes i unplugged the edge....the insight is just a monitor not a chip ...so it would have no affect on the warranty anyway my service guy knows i have it

Did the service guy say the cab had to come off? The reason I ask is that I had to have an oil pressure switch replaced a couple of months ago and to get to it they had to remove the turbos and I made a comment about having to remove the cab and he said they can now remove the turbos without taking the cab off. Took about 2 hours start to finish. He said something about a special tool to take the turbos off that they had. Said service departments were having problems with removing the cab because of people welding ladder racks and things like that on there trucks so they figured out a way to do it without removing the cab. I don't know if he was just blowing smoke or not, but they did remove and re-install my turbos.

cab is off....besides being under the turbos it is under a sealed cover of some sort. tech told me that mine is the fourth one he has seen this on and that the other three have come in on a hook truck. also that it was just on a certain build and i guess not just job one trucks(thats what mine is) like a certain date??...anyway said he could probably be done today that it wasnt that big of deal......i told him not to rush it

Theres a few trucks out there with the old style HPP cover gasket that has unprotected wiring for the pressure and volume control valves. I havent heard too much chatter about this but I expect that there will be more trucks fal victim over the years. Just wanted to clear up some things:

1. There is a Ford procedure to remove the turbos with the cab on. It is not the preferred method, though.

2. You do not have to remove the turbos to change the oil pressure switch.

3. You do not have to remove the turbos to remove the HP pump cover (aluminum cover).

Just out of curiosity have you? I had to change a right side pipe and had a hell of a time with the bolts in the turbo - rounded the heads. I inspected my 10mm sockets for wear and replacement which I haven't done in a while. There are a few trick wrenches and sockets but I am at the point where the cab has to come off. I can't wait for the day I have a truck where that is not possible and have to use the "cab on" procedures.
