Help!! Full of Gasoline

OK here goes, my service man filled up our 2008 F-250 diesel with 25 gallons of Unleaded and drove it approx 5 miles. When the truck sputtered, he looked at his receipt and realized what happened. Had it towed to the nearest dealer to get it fixed. The check engine light never came on nor did any other warning lights. I'm thinking Fuel Filters, Drain Tank and lines and that might fix it. Anything else I would appreciate ANY HELP...

Thanks in advance,

RH

Depends on the damage, but have them check out the fuel pump and injectors.

Thanks i should know more after lunch, the dealer is gonna call. It didn't feel like a cut injector and a opened the valve on the sside of the fuel pump block with the key on and let it pump some out, hover the tank is full and that would take forever.

I hope that service man is ready to pay for damages. Your warranty just went to hell in a handbasket.

One of my dumba$$ mechanics, hardy worth calling a service man. I am in the farm equipment business and h works for me. The dealership just called the damages are roughly $735.00 outta my pocket because FORD has no Dumb-a$$ warranty. i told the service man at the dealer to please not throw away my 25 gals of unleaded that is in the tank that is 100.00 dollars worth!!!

Thanks for your advice guys,

RH

There is no warranty because how can they stop anyone from putting in the wrong fuel?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it's usually not a good prognosis. The pump and injection system can't take the lower viscosity of the gas and obviously the cylinder pressures cause problems with the lower flash point of gas. Factor in the DPF and you might have some serious engine damage.

735 bucks to drain fuel tank and change a couple of filters.......ouch...

just more insult to injury .

i m no diesel expert what so ever, but you ll probally be ok...each of my diesels since my 1985 s10 diesel pickup has gotten a dose of unleaded fuel and the same thing happened, runs a few miles and stops.
